Hey everyone!

I'm asking for your help with participating in a charity fundraising event happening
THIS Sunday called "Cuts for a Cure". We're teaming up with The Lab Salon (one of the hippest salons in Beverly Hills) to offer professional haircuts for a donation of $100. Your hair will be cut by the same stylists whose clients include Kiera Knightly, Ashlee Simpson, Benecio Del Toro, and other stars! Absolutely ALL of the proceeds go towards St. Jude Children's Hospital, one of the leading non-profit pediatric cancer research institutions. The hospital treats all cancer-stricken children regardless of the family's ability to pay - that means they must rely on the generosity of others (that means YOU!). Even if you don't need a haircut, come hang out and donate just $35 and get a free St. Jude t-shirt, water bottle, or gym bag. Support the search for a cure!

Check out the flyer below for more info and let me know if you have questions.

Thanks everyone. Let's do it for the kids.

Hello,

I'm off to San Francisco for the week.

Goodbye.

Dare to dream.

In commemoration of Ash Wednesday and beginning of Lent, I will write my first religious commentary of the year...

Why is there this stigma among "Christian people" that being ambitious and pursuing success is wrong? They seem so reluctant to be around this type of person, worried that his ambition is somehow "sinful," and that it will rub off on them.  I believe quite the contrary. "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded." (Luke 12:48) .  If my gifting is in teaching, then I'm gonna go teach the illiterate of the world to read to open up opportunites. If it's in medicine, then I'm going to heal those that are helpless. If it's in business, then I'm gonna make tons of money to support those with the two previous callings. But why do I feel that, by pursuing a lucrative or ambitious career, I am someone not being a "good" Christian?  The rich-man-camel-can't-fit-needle passage refers to a person's attitude about money, not money itself.  The commonly referenced money=bad passage is grossly misquoted.  "For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil." (1 Timothy 6:10)  Money itself is not bad, in the hands of the right person.  Even more reason to encourage the faith of those who are pursuing riches for God.  I think it's just as easy for a poor man to stumble in his faith as a rich man.

God has called us to do all we can for the world.  And I honestly believe that some churches have somehow led people to believe that it's ok to take a backseat in the world; do the church thing on sundays, work a mild-mannered 9-5 job on the weekday, and just be content trying to improve the health of the Christian Bubble. Well I don't buy that.  Life is short, and God has big plans for His people here on earth. This whole mentality of being a quiet little Christian is crippling our community and ultimately His Kingdom. In fact, I think it's selfish. I know so many people that could be doing so much more with their lives but are content just doing whatever they're doing.  I have no right to judge whether this is wrong, but my fear is that their current state is due to a fear to dream. I believe that as Christians, we are expected to dream big and fight to make these dreams come true.  God's not going to drop everything in our laps.  That's why He gave us a heart and a mind, so that we may persevere and work for what we believe in.  Whether it's through business, teaching, healing, music...strive to be the best for Him.  Challenge yourself, your comfort zone, and use the gifts He's given you to the fullest potential.  Most importantly though, do it out of love. And if that makes you rich, then good for you.  Just remember that God's loaning you the money at 10% interest. =)

Jesus said, "go and make disciples of all nations."

What a dreamer.

oprah winfrey is my neighbor.

...well, at work anyways.  Her LA office is one floor above mine, along with a host of producers, entertainment lawyers, and talent agencies - meaning beautiful women everywhere.  this new job certainly has its perks.

oh yea, i make movies now.

These xanga surveys are so dry and boring now. Most are just
cookie-cutter questions/answers. So i'm going to do something about it:
I'm making my own survery. Filled with real questions I'd ask someone i
was genuinely trying to get to know and that will (hopefully) reveal a
little personality.

here goes...

easy stuff
- most favorite nickname: marshy. cute right?  thanks piyo. =)
- morning or evening shower: morning! it's the only way to wake me up. and yes, i wash my sheets regularly.
- best physical attribute: shoulders, so i've heard.
- best relationship attribute: caringness.  i think that's a word.
- one thing i'd change about myself: stop procrasinating. and maybe learning how to spell better.
- name one new years resolution: new job. (success!)
- % of new years resolutions met/kept: half i think.
- you just won a $10,000! you're going to... pay off my bills and school loans, then buy my friends dinner and drinks...with the $1.25 that's left over. =/
-go out quiet and peacefully or in a blaze of glory: i think blaze of
glory. i don't want to end up in a convelescent home. i think when i
reach 70 i'm going to start doing the craziest things. cliff diving,
hang-gliding, maybe a trip to the moon.

juiciness
- biggest strength: ambition
- biggest weakness: ambition
- greatest fear: not being the best i can be.
- second greatest fear: having a daughter. please God, have mercy on me. let it be a boy.
- intelligence or ambition in a gf/bf (mutally exclusive): ambition...but more so confidence.  that's sexy.
- first meaningful kiss: junior year of college. really.
- number of lost loves: 2
- number of current loves (secret or not): 1/4, secret. it's more of an intrigue, not love.
- what you miss the most right now (no you can't say your bf/gf you cheeseball): being in a band.  now it's just me and my guitar.  =(
- wo/man of your dreams, or job of your dreams (mutually exclusive): woman of course. isn't that the whole point of the job?  =P

i tag mitchachu, spiceyspagetti, superspark, jnphrly, chino, jooune, and byrdgirl.  Feel free to add any juicy questions you want.  Actually, all of you reading this should fill it out too.  Nothing to be embarrassed of...we're friends right?  Well, except for the xanga stalkers reading this now.  show yourselves!
